Creating an Exchange Account Using RPC over HTTPs

       Click Start->Control Panel in your Windows start menu.

• If you are using Category View (it says “Pick a Category…” on a blue background) then click User Accounts and then Mail.
• If you are using Classic View (a bunch of icons appear on a white background) then double-click Mail.

       Click Show Profiles.

      Click Add.

      NOTE: We do not recommend removing your older profile data.

     Type out your new profile name and click OK.

      Select “Place a check in the ‘Manually configure server setting or additional server types’ and click  next” and click Next.

      Select “Microsoft Exchange Server” and click Next.

       Add the settings for your account:

• In the Microsoft Exchange Server box, type your.server.com
• Place a check in “Use Cached Exchange Mode”
• Type your e-mail address (you@yourdomain.com) in the Username Box.
• Click More Settings

         Add the following advanced settings:

• Click the connection tab and place a check in the box next to “Connect to my Exchange mailbox using HTTP”.
• Click the button Exchange Proxy Settings…

• In the box “Use this URL to connect…” type in your.exchangeserver.com
• Place a check in the boxes “Connect using SSL Only” and “Mutually authentication when connecting to my proxy server for Exchange.
• In the “Principal name for proxy server” type msstd:your.server.com
• Check the box “On fast networks, connecting use http first, then connect using TCP/IP.”
• In the drop down menu under “Proxy authentication settings,” select Basic Authentication.
• Click OK

         Click OK

          Re-enter your email address if needed, click the Next button.

         If it asks you for your username and password

         Note: If needed, check “Remember my credentials”, use your discretion

         Click Finish

        Confirm that you choose the correct new profile under Always use this profile- click OK

         Close your Control Panel and launch your Outlook 2010

         Type in your Exchange username and password

          Note: If needed, check “Remember my credentials”, use your discretion.

         Outlook should now indicate the account is connected and downloading a copy of your data on the Exchange server.

Note: If you have no data on the server, you will need to export your data into a .pst file from your older Outlook profile.

          You will then need to logon to your new exchange Outlook profile and Import the .pst file, keeping Outlook open

          the imported data will then upload to the exchange server.

         If prompted, choose allow Auto discover and check don’t ask me about this website again. Most users do not use this service, it is not needed for Outlook to function properly.

NOTE: For exchange 2007 and 2010 users, the Autodiscover service uses a user’s e-mail address or domain account to automatically configure the user’s profile or the servers offline address book from the server. If you require this service, email your exchange provider and they can supply you with the correct DNS settings for your name server.
